Basic Academic Degrees
Bachelor’s Degree (AMK) in the
Field of Humanities, Community Educator; Bachelor’s Degree (AMK) in the Field
of Humanities, Sports Instructor; Master’s Degree in Sport Science and
Management (LitM); Master’s Degree in Social Sciences (YTM); University Degree
in Youth Instruction; Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services; College-level
Degrees in Youth and Sports Sector.
Drawing on the demands of
working life and its development, the academic degree programmes in the Youth
and Sports Sector aim to provide the basic knowledge and skills required to
efficiently meet the challenges involved in expert, planning and development
tasks.
Educational institutions
The Master of Sport Sciences
degree can be completed at the University
of Jyväskylä. The
Bachelor of Sport Sciences degree can be completed at the University of Jyväskylä, Rovaniemi
University of Applied Sciences, Kajaani University of
Applied Sciences, Lahti University of Applied Sciences and Haaga-Helia
University of Applied Sciences. The Swedish-language degree can be completed at Arcada University of Applied Sciences.
Up until the year 2000,
students were able to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences (YTM) in the
field of youth work through the social pedagogics programme at the University of Tampere. The programme served as a continuation to the
preceding university degree in youth work. Those who completed the university degree were
allowed to use the title of ‘sosionomi’, which today refers to the Bachelor’s
Degree in Social Sciences.
Until 2000, students were also
able to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Sciences from the University of
Tampere. An equivalent polytechnic degree can today be completed at the
educational units of the HUMAK University of
Applied Sciences located in Tornio, Haapavesi, Äänekoski, Joensuu, Nurmijärvi and Lohja, and at the Campus of Culture and Youth Work of
Mikkeli University of Applied
Sciences. The
Swedish-language degree can be completed at Arcada University of Applied
Sciences. |
